Àárọ́ is our version of a Yoruba tradition of shared labour and mutual aid, where people pool their effort so no one carries a big job alone. Ours is a voluntary pot that anyone can add to.
how it works
The pot runs in seasons and stays open until it reaches its threshold. Then the money goes to the person at the front of the queue and the queue moves along. Everyone waits their turn because the cycle keeps going.
what it supports
Individuals, artisans, organisations and projects working for culture and community care. We name every recipient and show where the money went.
What we take, we return.
